Métis language: Michif

"Learn Michif" CD extracts and follow-along text.

Here we present Michif, a language spoken by some Métis people, of which it is a full creole: a blend of several languages with a grammar, syntax, and word construction. Most of it is based upon "Cree" and French, with some "Ojibwe" and other languages. We present it so that Métis and other people may learn how it sounds, and may learn how to speak it. This isn't a complex course, as it is just the beginning. I'll let the lesson developers speak for themselves.

Go see for yourself, and I hope you learn as much from it as I am. Meegwetch.
